Forza Inspired By Pokemon? |

With it's interesting and seemingly never ending bevy of cars to collect, the Forza Motorsport series has become one of the crowned racing jewels to own on the Xbox 360. When a game is this kind of popular, sometimes it's interesting to know where such a stellar concept came from. When asked this question, the fellas over at Turn 10 Games gave some answers that nobody expected. What does "gotta catch em all" have to do with racing?

When looking for inspiration in a game, Turn 10's creative director Dan Greenwait thinks that quite possibly one of the worst things you can do when creating a brand is to take inspiration from within your own genre. That's why the man himself chose to look elsewhere when beginning the development process of the beloved Xbox racing series. With the game's car collecting element driving players to obtain and unlock as many vehicles as possible, you wouldn't readily think about it too much, but believe it or not that exact aspect was greatly inspired by the Pokemon RPG series.
However, the draw doesn't stop there either. He also states that the rarity meter found in the first game in the series is a direct tie to Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. Depending on the region you chose when beginning your career, some cars would be easier to find than others. Tell me that doesn't sound like everyone's favorite monster collecting franchise! It's true that inspiration can sometimes come from the most unexpected places. With regards to the Forza series, there is clearly no exception!
