Epic Mickey 2 Is 'Sorry' |
Listed in: News Tags: epic mickey 2, tale of two, Warren Spector
In a world of heavy marketing and in-your-face-we-will-rock-you slogans, trailers and statements, it's a breath of fresh air to see a developer focus not only on what their new game will bring, but also what they've fixed.
Here's a double dosage of good news; one, the trailer above. Two, Epic Mickey's sequel will focus on fixing flaws. For me at least, focusing on correcting the errors in a previous game is just as important as newer features, and many times the two cross over. Warren Spector, talking on Epic Mickey 2: The Power Of Two, talked about how they've strived to fix the camera work, which wasn't so well received, of the first game. He said that after the first day of launching Epic Mickey, the team immediately said 'We want to set a goal for ourselves. We want to make a game where, if you're on the main story path, you never have to touch the main camera controls.'
That's some goal for an action adventure platformer, and perhaps they've achieved it, as Warren says that 'over 1000 specific changes have been made'. Nice one, Warren.
He also said that the sequel will have full voice acting, and ditching the way of Banjo-Kazooie-like murmuring.
Are you guys happy to hear about these changes, or how do you feel about Epic Mickey?
