Earth Defense Force 4, like its predecessors, is a game that's all about fighting giant bugs in the year 2025. Damn, just 13 more years 'til we're overrun by giant ants. Crap.

In the trailer below, we see things straight out of old school horror/sci-fi movies: giant ants, spiders, and other creepy crawlies - including a giant "wasp spider" called Retarius. In the game you play a variety of characters whose job it is to exterminate these bastards, including a new class called the Wing Diver. The Wing Diver is a woman who can fly around and blast the giant bugs from above while her comrades take the brunt of their enemies' ire from below. 

Earth Defense Force 4 is said to have co-op gameplay for "large numbers of people," whatever that means. Whatever it means, it sure does look like a blast.
