EA Fixes Up Its Security |

If you remember, not long ago people were having their FIFA accounts hacked and compromised by people who would then use their account’s credit cards to purchase MS Points and FIFA DLC.

We were assured by Microsoft that it wasn’t the work of hackers who had hacked Xbox Live, but instead the work of phishers who had used sneaky phishing techniques to obtain personal information via FIFA. FIFA was the target simply because it’s popular.
Well EA have now issued a statement saying that they’re releasing a patch primarily regarding security with FIFA 12. More specifically, the patch affects the FIFA Ultimate Team and EA Sports Football Club aspects of FIFA 12, both for the PS3 and 360. The patch incorporates new security measures such as security questions and friend-only trade offers.
Security breaches were plentiful last year, and here’s hoping this year will a slightly safer one for us consumers.
