EA's Jason DeLong revealed that a Call of Duty style development cycle for Need for Speed has greatly helped the series.
"It was huge for us and I think that was the great thing the company recognised, Black Box was doing Need for Speed year over year between Underground, Underground 2, Most Wanted and so on," he said.
"At a certain point when you have to put these games out year after year you don't have time to reinvest in yourself, neither in your team or your technology," he continued.
DeLong went on to explain that splitting studios -- similar to Treyarch and Infinity Ward -- has been a great strategy.
Expect more Need for Speed releases each year. Need for Speed: The Run, which makes use of quick time events, releases later this year on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Nintendo 3DS.

I mean Burnout was a success for a reason ya know... CRITERION!
Plus Hot Pursuit is like one of the only NFS games I've seen lately that doesn't have jumpy sound. What's up with that anyway? Random drop outs of sound ain't cool.
