Don't Look for a Call of Duty Movie |
Listed in: News Tags: Activision, call of duty, film, movie
Are you hoping that the ridiculously popular Call of Duty series someday makes its way onto the big screen? It’s not too likely, at least for the time being.

Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision, recently said that the company is not interested in a Call of Duty movie. A New York Times article recently noted that Activision has been approached with many offers to convert the Call of Duty franchise into a blockbuster film, but those offers have all been rejected. As for the reasoning behind the rejections, Kotick said that “movies based on video games rarely please devoted fans and could taint the brand.”
Of course, the amount of money that the Call of Duty franchise has managed to bring in allows Activision to be picky. Whether or not they change their minds on the topic remains to be seen, but the likelihood of that happening seems very slim.
Would you like to see a Call of Duty film, or do you think it would taint the franchise? Are there any films based on video games that you have actually enjoyed?
