Defiance - You Got a Video Game in My TV Show |

Trion World and Syfy (formerly the Sci-fi Channel) have teamed up to bring us a crossover TV show/video game called Defiance. The game will be a multi-platform MMO shooter that takes place alongside the Syfy TV show of the same name. It takes place in the future after a mass migration of seven alien races (collectively called the Votan, it appears) to Earth. The war with these aliens has come and gone, and now everyone's learning to get along and stuff.
How exactly it's all going to work isn't entirely clear quite yet, but the producers have said that at the beginning of the game (2 weeks before the show starts) you'll meet main TV show characters Nolan and Irisa (played by Grant Bowler and Stephanie Leonidas, respectively) as NPCs before they run off to do whatever they do on the TV show. Later on, the character Ryn, called a "spirit-walker," from the TV show will leave the show for a while and have a major role in the game before returning to the show after doing whatever she did in the game.
It will be on Xbox 360, PC, and PS3 and the producers say that events such as big battles in the game may affect the TV show and vice versa. They've also mentioned that they'll be offering one lucky player a chance to see his or her character made into a TV show character, so you should name your character accordingly. So your video game character named Poopy McWonderpants won't be on the TV show, then.
The whole video game/ TV show shebangabang will be out April 2013. This sounds really ambitious and fun if done right by Trion Worlds and Syfy, but do you think it will pan out well?
