It was said late last year that EA was looking to expand the Dead Space franchise, talking about maybe putting out some sort of FPS, a space battles game, and/or an Uncharted-style action/adventure game. Though they said that Dead Space would continue along as always (they even hinted that the third installment would take place on an ice world to change things up a little), this still riled many fans.

Now it looks like they may be going forward with that expansion; at least that's the best case scenario. Visceral Games has a job posting up looking for "an avid FPS gamer" and someone with "previous experience as a Multiplayer level designer" on shooters. They are also hiring an Environment Artist to work on the Dead Space franchise, so they're not hiding the fact that they are working on their successful IP.

So one way or another we're getting more Dead Space. Whether that will be the classic, third-person survival horror game of old (and maybe some multiplayer like in Dead Space 2), an FPS with multiplayer, a space battles game, or an Uncharted-style game, or one of each remains to be seen.
