Crytek - Warface and Ryse Are Still in the Game |

Crytek's popular F2P shooter Warface may be coming to consoles, according to Cevat Yerli. "We have over 3 million registered users in Russia," he said. "In Russia it beat World of Tanks and all those games, which is quite an achievement.
"In Europe and the US we already have 500,000 subscriptions to the closed beta. That's the kind of number you normally get in an open beta, not a closed one."
So now Yerli wants to translate that success to consoles. "We have been talking to console manufacturers, Sony and Microsoft in particular, about free-to-play games. A couple of years ago they weren't interested in free-to-play games, and they didn't have the right structure there - which is fine because they were busy. But there was no home for Warface on console."
Things are different now, Yerli says. He says that "the interest in Warface is quite high" and that he would be happy if this gen of consoles or the next embraces F2P and can run Warface.
Speaking about Crytek's Kinect-enabled Roman Empire game Ryse, Yerli said the rumors of its troubles were exaggerated. "The development team shifted," he said, "but for different reasons than people assume.
"People think it's because it didn't work out, but it was actually a studio redirection - we wanted Budapest to focus more on mobile and tablet, and they released Fribble, which was quite an excursion for Crytek.
"With Ryse, the game is moving forward really well -we just can't talk about it."
When asked about Ryse going to the next gen, Yerli was noncommittal beyond saying they were under contract with Microsoft for Ryse and that they'd be sticking to that.
What do you think about Warface coming to consoles? What about Ryse? Will it ever see the light of day?
