Yesterday was a big day in the world of Assassin's Creed. First, a couple of images cropped up on a couple of different sites that seemed to point towards the American Revolution setting that had been rumored for several weeks. Then, people noticed that Ubisoft was fiddling with the Assassin's Creed Facebook page, putting up some weird image of snow-covered ground. The next thing you know, we have this:

So, yeah, that's an Assassin about to tomahawk a Redcoat. There you go.
What do you think about this choice? The thing most people have said is the lack of tall architecture in late 18th century colonial America. Even big cities like Boston and New York had nothing like the soaring architecture present in previous Assassin's Creed games so it will be interesting to see what the devs do with it. Maybe climbing trees in old New England forests, ambushing British troops?
Other have said that maybe the game will be more combat-focused, as the cover art shows a more overt Assassin on blood-soaked battlefield, rather than blending into a crowd with a hidden blade. Another thing worth noting is that the common white-hooded Assassin garb doesn't really blend well in colonial America and it appears as if the Assassin on the cover may be a Native American. So maybe there will be less blending and more ambushes and out-and-out battles. Hmmm.
More info is coming on March 5th, but the October 30th release date has been confirmed.
