Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel - Using the Buddy System |
Listed in: News Tags: army of two, EA, Visceral Games

The Army of Two games are known for their creative use of the buddy system in their gameplay. It looks like the newest iteration will have more of that, and then some. Of course, this time around you're playing mercs Alpha and Bravo, rather than Salem and Rios. Alpha and Bravo do work for T.W.O. (Trans World Operations in the first two games, though people seem to be calling it Tactical World Operations in this one), which is Salem and Rios's company, so those two will be around in some capacity. You can even hear them calling the shots over the radio in the trailer below.
Along with the trailer, we get to see some gameplay from The Devil's Cartel at Gamescom as well. Overall, it's looking a bit more over-the-top in the action department than the first two games, with less of the frat boy-isms, which may be good or bad depending on your tastes.
The guys from Visceral have added a new mechanic called Overkill that builds over time and eventually allows either of the players to unleash massive destruction upon their enemies.
Anybody looking forward to Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel when it comes out March 2013?
