The criminal duo may be coming back, at least that's the speculation. Someone at NeoGAF uncovered the fact that Square Enix has trademarked the name "Sleeping Dogs" and the general consensus is that this sounds like a new Kane & Lynch game. Yes, the last game was called "Dog Days," but that's a tenuous connection at best.

On the other hand, someone spotted a job posting at developer IO Interactive for a Senior Multiplayer Programmer that would be working on "multiplayer technology [that] lays the foundation for an as yet unannounced 3rd person game with strong cooperative multiplayer elements." Yep, sounds like Kane & Lynch.

IO is currently putting Hitman Absolution together, but with that Kane & Lynch movie starring Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx (uh...yeah) still being threatened for 2013 they may want to cash in on the K&L name. Get it while the gettin's good, I guess.

The previous Kane & Lynch games were unpolished, to say the least, but I enjoyed them. What do you guys think about a new one?
