Halo: Reach players will get a new map pack this month. To further add to the excitement, Microsoft's Halo-centric studio, 343 Industries, has given us a quick peek at what happened behind the scenes during the development of the Defiant downloadable content pack.
The Defiant DLC pack will feature three new maps, all of which will be "unique" in the context of Halo: Reach's story. According to 343, they didn't just throw in these maps because they looked cool. They also had to consider their place in the game's fiction. Learn more about them in the video below.
The Defiant map pack for Halo: Reach has three maps: Condemned, Highlands, and Unearthed. The Condemned map takes place aboard Orbital Station Gamma, a massive space station high in orbit above the planet Reach. Highlands takes place on the top-secret Military Wilderness Training Preserve on Reach. Finally, players will do battle in a large Titanium mine and refinery located in the Viery civilian sector of the planet in the Unearthed map.
The Defiant map pack also adds new Achievements to earn, which will total up to 150 Gamerscore. It will be available March 15 on the Xbox Live Marketplace for 800 Microsoft Points.
