Team Xecuter revisits a product dubbed the Unlocked Replacement PCB. The PCB was a custom replacement board, that was one of the solutions to flashing the Liteon DG-14S drives in the Xbox Slim. The problem at the time was that the Liteon drives in these Xboxes were write protected from the get-go and could not be flashed, unless modifications were made.
The Unlocked Replacement PCB was a copy of the Liteon's PCB but had a write protect switch onboard which when disabled, could be controlled via the comptuer. It performed just as good as the original and it was undetectable on Microsoft's end. Although it was the most expensive option available, it was arguably one of the safest when compared to other solutions such as the Kamikaze hack.
With the new version of the PCB, the write protect switch has been moved to the outside of the DVD drive for easier access. The write protect switch also relays the current status of the drive and each side was relabeled for easier identification. With the release of the new PCB, is a $10 price drop bringing the sales price to $59.95.
You can grab your Xecuter Unlocked Replacement PCB wherever TX products are sold.
