I know, you are probably tired of hearing about the I.C.E. modchip... probably just as tired as I am of getting news reports about it in my inbox. But my job is not to like the news, just to report it. So here's what's new on the modchip front:First, we have a "proof video" released from I.C.E. showing them running a backup Xbox 360 game. Yes, I know, I know... that could be a kiosk disc or a copy of one labeled "Call of Duty 2". You can make up your own mind about this video, but if the PSP scene is any indication, "proof videos" rarely pan out and are usually the first sign of a hoax. You can download this video [here].
Speaking of the PSP scene, on the other side of the fence, we have well known PSP homebrew programmer Fluff (aka Naoneo) standing up for his opinion on I.C.E.'s modchip. Much like he did when there were many fake "proof videos" of the PSP being hacked floating around, he's created a satirical webpage in an effort to show how easy it is to create a hoax. This time it's in the form of "TeamSolix360". If you press Ctl-A on the front page, you'll be let in on the joke. You can also view his explanation of why he thinks the I.C.E. modchip is a hoax, and he has some pretty convincing things to say.
Here i will attempt to prove the plot of infinitymods.com to scam the scene into laying down cash for a non-existant product.
We're all aware that the only site in existance that has seen these supposed working 360 modchips, is infact infinitymods.com, now if we check the relations between both sites, we find that they're more than just product testers..
Let's go deeper.
In my personal experience of living in Toronto, Canada, for a few years, i can confirm myself that both registrants of either domain live within 2 blocks, the markers shown on the map above are aproximations, however due to the vauge information given for the registrants, they could very well be the exact same location.
If this wasn't good enough proof..
infinitymods.com - 64.21.181.130
icemodchip.com - 64.21.181.130
Clearly both sites are using the exact same host, Coincidence? i think not.
Now fobbed off as a "disagreement" of the webmaster and mod makers, the images have been removed, however we still have copies of the originally released images by icemodchip.com.
I have no doubts in my mind that infinitymods.com are using this whole thing for publicity and to possibly steal from resellers, thanks to their backwards idea of having to order in bulk to get a sample...
In all my years of working in a corporate environment, the concept of 'sample' was always to provide an example of the product so a seller may decide on if they should invest the money on a large order, not the other way around.
It's fishier then an essex girls crotch, and dressed twice as bad.

when you have a darkly lit room with a camera placed so far away, its dificult to say that its a legitimate video

fake , you can record video into a DVDR and then play it on the 360 , too dark , you cant see a chip.

If all 360 games are on dvd-9 why is call of duty on a dvd-5 4.7GB Disc? pretty wierd or is me
Reply
Mark , not all games need a DVD9 , Condemned is just 3GB's , PDZ is around 4GB's , PGR3 around 6GB's

Watch the girl's hands. She holds the "Copy" in the right hand. and pulls a disk out of the 360, but puts it right back in. She's trying pretty hard to make sure she doesn't move her hand still holding the "copy". Cheap con tricks, will they never learn?

anon 12:03, you could be very right.
i didnt pick up on that, but its still hard to see.

Again, I doubt this is totally fake, if it is then they get sued for WAY more money than they have, and get jailtime. They probably do have a chip in the making, but it won't be released for some time, they just took preorders because they know they can, people will believe it.

Okej here it is, won't stay long online on this site... Show movie Again something that i found out from Nao's site, that if you look at the animation: the thing she/he hold in his hand isn't there in the real movie. Again, when you look at te movie ^^ you won't see any disc inserted in the xbox 360. Also my opinion says that it is fake.

Why are people calling them hackers?....

Even if they are working on one there really isn't any point in doing what they are doing. They could of just done what lots of real legit companies do and say they got some problems and there will be a delay. An example of this is RIM Research In Motion's Blackberry's. The fact that they keep doing this crap saying the site blah blah blah, and putting out a crappy video means they are hiding something. For someone who can afford to make modchips well i'm pretty sure they can how should I say turn on the goddamn lights while recording the damn video.
I'm not gonna say hoax or no hoax but they sure got a lot of things to hide if they keep doing this crap.

FAKE....I just don't get it...If I REALLY had a modded 360 and wanted to PROVE it to the world I wouldn't keep the camera a mile away...IN THE DARK..to prove my point...Just my 2 cents.

I emailed them and they said they ripped it 2 a DVD-5 witch is indeeed possible if u replace sum ingame movies

The Naoneo video was supposed to be fake and show that they can make a video as real as the iceteam's video. Also at the end of the video you see it booted up halo 2 not halo 3

Fake......why do people try to get other peoples hopes up? It looks like if she does put that "backup disk" in the 360 she put it over the original copy of COD2. Also if you mod your xbox it would show you a different screen when you boot up......crock of sh1t!

I think the simple point to make is that when inserting the disc, the free hand suddenly changes position - Basically they cut between two takes... What more do you need? Is this too difficult for people to see - Don't believe the hype!

Man! have these people no shame?!? that was shocking!! they could have atleast edited the video better!!!! What a joke and who the hell do they think they're kidding?!? I hope that 360 of theres bursts in to flames out of shame of being owned by those con artists!

If they really had a mod chip why not just take a picture of the chip installed in the 360?
Reply
Why dont they light the room - have a straight on view onto the DVD drive and clearly show the disk being placed into the drive then booting.
They could also timecode the video to show no cuts etc.
