To stealth or not to stealth? Different approaches in Deus Ex: Human Revolution

It's all about choice in Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Eidos Montreal is giving players a lot of options to choose from when it comes to tackling a problem. Even if the problem is just how to move from one building to another.

The narrative game designer for Human Revolution, Mary DeMarle, takes us through the different approaches open to players in the game in the video below. As DeMarle explains, Human Revolution is built on four "pillars": combat, stealth, social, and hacking. The focus in this particular video is on the first two, as demonstrated by three different playthroughs.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is currently slated for release on August 23 in North America and August 26 in Europe. The game will be available on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Looks like it'll be easier than the first Deus Ex.

It looks like it plays similar to the old Splinter Cell games (don't know about Conviction because I have a PS3). I absolutely loved the original Deus Ex, I've completed it about 15 times, and have thoroughly explored every location. If this game can make me do the same, it'll be a contender for one of my all-time favourites.
