Skyrim Main Campaign Beaten in 2 hours (and 15 minutes) |

This speedrun thing is becoming a little bit of a habit for Bethesda on the eve of their new big name releases.
The rules are fairly simple, the spreedrun is measured through the main quest only (no cheats, of course).
According to the Bethesda Blog, the competition has always been between the best that the Developer Studio has to put up VS the best of the Quality Assurance (QA) department.

So this time around, the two contestants were two familiar faces who rose to the occasion:
- Sam "I Am" Bernstein (QA); and
- Jeff "Live the Dream" Browne (BGS).
These two have history, fighting it out in the Fallout 3 speedrun around three years ago.
Sam anticipated his Skyrim speedrun to take around 2:15, amazingly, he was fairly darn close, clocking in at 2:16:10. Unfortunately for Jeff, his time was 2:16:30. Close, Jeff, but not quite close enough.
Here is Sam celebrating his monumental victory. The prize? A pie from Todd Howard, another member of their development team and this righteous trophy!

Now I know what you are saying...Finishing the main quest is only going to take me 2hours, 16 minutes, why on earth would I buy this game for two hours?
Take into account the fact that these guys have been playing their own games for years, so they know the ins and outs, these spreedruns took an hour more than the Oblivion and Fallout 3 speedruns. And, those games took weeks to finish when played through in a normal fashion.
On average then, there is double the amount of content time in Skyrim than in Bethesda's previous titles. Happier now?
Stay tuned to Qj.net in the future for official consumer speedruns, which, if history is any indication, can be even more impressive than the official developer runs.
I'm super excited for the Skyrim release (despite its lack of Dwarf Art), doubt I'll be finishing it inside 2 weeks, let alone 2 hours.
