PS3 gamers won't be the only ones making a return trip to Silent Hill. Konami has announced that the previously PS3 exclusive HD collection of the second and third Silent Hill games will be making its way to Microsoft's Xbox 360 console as well.
This news came out during Konami's Gamescon press conference where Silent Hill: Downpour producer Tomm Hulett announced that fan reaction to the exclusivity drove Konami to ditch it and go multiplatform.
The Silent Hill HD Collection still doesn't have a final release date but Konami says it is aiming to release both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions simultaneously sometime during the September/October period. Strangely enough, a press release sent out today lists it for an "early 2012" release.
The Silent Hill HD Collection will include high-def remastered editions of both Silent Hill 2 and 3. It was first announced during Konami's pre-E3 press conference back in June alongside the Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Ender HD collections.
