Ninja Gaiden 3's Hero Mode is for newcomers |

They might be doing away with all the decapitations, but early impressions of Ninja Gaiden 3 implied that Team Ninja didn't lower the series' notorious difficulty at all. The devs still do want it to be a more accessible entry to newcomers, though, and they plan to do that by including a less punishing Hero Mode to the game.
If all you want is to get from the start of Ninja Gaiden 3's story to the end, Hero Mode is for you. In this mode, players gain the advantage of automatic dodges and the ability to block most normal attacks.
"We really wanted to flesh out the story this time around so we wanted people to enjoy that story and get used to the game as it is," explained director Fumihiko Yasuda in an interview with gaming news site Joystiq. "In the past the games were really hardcore and we couldn't get players to stay with us and complete the game."
Before hardcore fans of the game's high level of difficulty want to tear Yasuda a new one, it's worth noting that Hero Mode is completely optional. Gamers looking for a challenge can find one in the game's super hard difficulty mode. Yes, they're trying to cater to a more casual crowd, but you always have to option to go down the more challenging route. At least that's better than dumbing the entire game down.

If you can't run with the big boys then you have NO BUSINESS GAMING
I am sick of the difficulty being toned down to reach newcomers. They didn't do that during the SNES and NES days, it wasn't until PS1 this easy bullshit started coming out.
Fuck them, either man up or fuck off.
