From starring in trailers to getting demoed on the E3 2011 big screen by Cliff Bleszinski and Ice T, Marcus and Dom are without a doubt the most visible pair of characters in the Gears of War series. Gears of War 3, however, will give gamers a more varied experience in the campaign.

According to 1Up, the part demoed by Bleszinski and Ice T during Microsoft's press conference transitions into a "one hour earlier" segment where gamers get to control Cole and Baird. Executive producer Rod Fergusson explains that there will be numerous instances of these time rewinds and alternate looks at unfolding events throughout the game's campaign mode.

Aside from that, Bleszinski also revealed at E3 2011 that Gears of War 3's campaign will be at least a few hours longer than the first two games'. "There's all this unique combat, all these story elements; there's a lot of stuff going on," he explained. "It's quite a journey."
