Gearbox promises more traditional Brothers in Arms games |

The Brothers in Arms series took a sharp left turn with the announcement of Brothers in Arms: Furious 4. The over-the-top, Inglorious Basterds-like game is still set during World War II but features a more casualized and less realistic take on war.
Hardcore fans who have misgivings about this new direction don't have to worry, though. It's not as if developer Gearbox Software is leaving the main series' roots and the 101st Airborne Division behind entirely.
Speaking during a panel at PAX 2011, Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford reiterated that there will be more Brothers in Arms games that stick closely to the feel of the main games. "We're going to do more of that," he said. "Absolutely, that's happening."
Pitchford then went on to explain that working with publisher Ubisoft has allowed them to look at Brothers in Arms as a brand that can accommodate games that resemble traditional entries such as Hell's Highway as well as more casual spin-offs like Furious 4.
Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 is currently slated for release in 2012. It was the Brothers in Arms title that Gearbox had been teasing for an E3 2011 reveal.
