Dead Island's Bloodbath Arena DLC now set for November |
Listed in: Games Tags: dead island, Deep Silver, techland

Dead Island had a great launch showing but that was quickly hobbled by a number of technical issues. Developer Techland has been trying to plug up the problems in the game alongside finishing work on its first piece of downloadable content, so it wasn't that surprising when the DLC pack, Bloodbath Arena, got delayed.
Techland didn't announce a new release date for the add-on when it was first delayed, but now we have a new "mid-November" launch window for it. The additional time afforded by the delay will be "used to make sure that every Dead Island fan will receive the best experience possible on every platform."
The Bloodbath Arena DLC adds four new maps to the game, an all new horde mode, and a new weapon called the brain bomb. The loot and experience that players gain in the DLC will carry over to the main game.
An October release for Bloodbath Arena would have made the DLC much more relevant in terms of timing, but I'd rather the devs fix up the game as best as they can before they start charging people for extras. A November release is a good call.
