Is another Burnout in the works?  How about another Road Rash?  According to some recent statements from the folks at Criterion Games, they very well might be.

Yes, it’s true that Need for Speed may be at the top of Criterion Games’ priorities for the time being, but that does not mean that the studio has ruled out some other adrenaline-filled titles for the future, including another Burnout and Road Rash.

In an interview with the Guardian, Criterion’s creative director Craig Sullivan spoke about the some of the studio’s possible plans: “There's still a lot of stuff we want to do with driving.  We will make another Burnout game at some point. Obviously, as we're working on NFS we're thinking of really good ideas that aren't right for this series; there are ideas that we're going to explore with Burnout. And we wouldn't be making NFS or Burnout games if we didn't think the driving genre had a long shelf life and that we could push the boundaries.”

Sullivan also touched on the possibility of an upcoming Road Rash game:  “We might make a Road Rash game…But then we might make a game without vehicles in it.  I mean, we made Black, I was the lead designer; we might make a game about blowing the crap out of each other. But Road Rash seems like a good fit for Criterion…”

I would love another Road Rash.... Miss it from the Sega Genesis... :-/ But you know what? I'm not going to buy another Criterion Game ever again thanks to Need for Speed Shift or whatever it was called. It would not let me play unless I signed up for an EA account and would not let me use an existing account. It also would not let me create a new account?? Um, what? I opened the game and literally could not get past that on-screen prompt. I took the game back to the store that sold it to me telling them that I couldn't play it and they said that they wouldn't refund me. Fortunately for me, I talked them into it since I technically never played the game, but I did open the package. It was very frustrating and I almost lost $60. I love the Burnout series, too. Sucks that I can't trust them. There are other reasons why I hate EA Games because of games I had for my Android phone.
