Activision gets help from Moms Group for upcoming Spyro Title |
Listed in: Games Tags: skylanders spyros adventure, spyro
Mumsnet is an online portal that provides advice to parents (moms and dads) about any and all topics concerning parenting, including gaming it seems.
Activision will be hoping for a revival of the Spyro series with Skylanders, and it may prove true, with more detail about how the 'Portal of Power' accessory will work now being made available, it sounds like kids will be eager to snap it up.

The Portal of Power will allow for 1 of 32 specially licensed toys to be placed on it. We assume, through the use of some RFID signal, the Portal of Power will transmit the information in game, unlocking the specific type of toy you have placed on the Portal. The game will also be able to save achievements and other details into the toy, which could open up new opportunities for game developers.
European marketing director Ian McClellan said: "We are working to execute a standout campaign which differs from traditional videogame PR plans. Creative activities are planned across the kids, parenting, gifting, trade and specialist media landscape through launch and beyond.
"A key part of the campaign involves building a relationship with highly influential parenting website Mumsnet."
Mumsnet has more than 600,000 registered users and was seen as an important platform for discussion with parents as it was used during elections that were held in Great Britain in 2010.
Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure will be released on October 14th in a bundle pack with 3 of the toys that can be placed on the Portal of Power... as long as mum says so =)
