Skyward Sword’s Alphabet Deciphered

Those of you who have played any 3D Zelda game will probably come across one of the various alphabets from the games’ world on signs here and there. Based on Hylian, the alphabets vary in the games, and the most recent iteration’s alphabet was already been cracked by gamers.

Dubbed as being ‘too ancient to translate’, previous attempts had always failed with gamers getting confused translating the letters J, Q and X.

One particular user, Sarinilli, from Zelda Universe got the job done and the font can be downloaded at the source link below.

With the font it’s just a matter of opening up notepad, selecting the font, and typing away to get the Skyward Sword Hylian alphabet in front of you.

I’ve always assumed that the characters were just random garbage, but indeed it means something.

This, combined with the Zelda timeline being released and the little action figures reported earlier this week add up to quite a little Zelda season.
