Thanks to Weekly Famitsu, we now have a clearer picture of what Pandora's Tower is really going to be about, even for just a tiny bit.
So we already know that the characters will be Ende and friend Ceres. They, along with the rest of their people, used to live in the peaceful kingdom of Elysium. During the harvest festival, Ceres was called upon by the kingdom to sing at an event. However, just when she was about to step onto the stage, a huge beast appeared.
In the chaos and confusion that ensued, Ende finds an unconscious Ceres. Because she was there when the beast appeared, she was then supposed to be taken away by the army for questioning, and for her to be a witness regarding the appearance. Both Ende and Ceres fleed, and with the help of Graia the merchant, managed to find recluse in an isolated tower.
Ceres, however, has apparently been affected by the beast's appearance by way of a curse. In order to get rid of Ceres' curse, he must be able to gather flesh from the beasts that reside within the tower. And so their adventures begin.
That certainly puts the very first trailer into better perspective.
Here are some other interesting tidbits that you should know about Pandora's Tower:
- Timer in the lower left of the screen shows how far Ceres’ curse has progressed
- Game is over when the counter hits zero
- Use the chain to restrain the servant beasts you encounter in the towers and tear their flesh off for delivery to Ceres
- Twelve towers
- Towers are of different size, theme
- Red Flame Tower blocks your progress with fire
- Boss at the deepest point in each tower
- Flesh of the bosses of all the towers is required to completely clear Ceres of her curse
- Servant beast flesh only halts the curse
