More details trickle out from Pandora's Tower

A Japanese blog posted some first impressions on Pandora's Tower, and judging by how quick the post was pulled down, it's probably safe to say that Nintendo doesn't want us knowing what the blog had to say -- at least not at this point.

Thank goodness for caches, Andriasang managed to pick up some choice bits and pieces from the preview.

pandoras-tower-box-artSo, we already know about Ceres and Ende, the two characters who were forced into hiding in a tower after a flying beast attacked their town celebration and invariably casting a spell on Ceres.

At that time, it wasn't clear exactly what kind of curse she was under, but the preview now claims that she will be assuming some beastlike properties. Far from the cute girl we've seen in the trailer, the blogger says that she actually looks "quite pathetic".

Another interesting claim is that there are some similarities to Zelda, if only because Ende also has a sword and chain. Well, more than that, the game's also got some puzzle components to it. The said chain also reminded him of Zelda's hookshot.

Here are the other juicy tidbits that you should know about Pandora's Tower:

  • You can grab enemies with the chain and swing them around
  • You can move switches with the chain
  • Ceres must eat meat from the beasts within the tower so she can lift the curse. The catch is, they come from a vegetarian kind of race.
  • If she doesn't get the required beast meat, Ceres could transform into her acursed beast form
  • There are multiple endings to the game. The selections you make in the play will definitely affect the ending.

All in all, the story's sounding really tight, eh? We'll keep you updated on more, as they come.

wouldn't it be cool if she turns into one of those actual beasts, and when she does, the curse reverses the remedy such that she will need to eat human meat instead. then she'll go have to hunt ende down herself.
