It looks like Wii owners are in for more classic RPG goodness soon. The ESRB has a new listing for Lufia & the Fortress of Doom revealing that the old SNES RPG is headed for Nintendo's Virtual Console Service. Here's what the listing has to say about the game:

"This is a role-playing game in which players must save a fantastical world from evil beings. Players travel across continents, interact with other characters, and engage in turn-based battles with a variety of small creatures (e.g., elves, goblins, frogs, wolves). Using a menu system, players select actions (e.g., Stun, Poison, Thunder) that result in colorful hit-point damage against enemies, which disappear when defeated."

Lufia & the Fortress of Doom follows the reemergence of the evil Sinistral army after they and their floating Fortress of Doom were sent packing by four heroes: Maxim, Selan, Artea, and Guy. Players take control of a red-haired boy who gets caught up in the escalating conflict as the Sinistrals once again mount another attack on the world of Lufia.

No word yet on a proper release date, but since the game has already been rated by the ESRB we can probably expect it to be on the Virtual Console service soon.

Yeah I've never finished this but only cuz I got stuck at a cave I can't pass through.

I still think this game was pretty wicked though, had a good story and style of play.
Didn't like the one after since it was nothing like the first.

The DS remake was cool but I just couldn't get sucked into the remade story.
