Japanese magazine Weekly Shounen Jump dishes out new information on Dragon Quest X in their latest issue.

According to the magazine, there will be five races to choose from, apart from the humans, when you play this game: Ogre, Elf, Dwarf, Pukuripo and Wedi. You're basically going to be free to decide which race you'll be playing as in the game, but what's set is that the human race will remain central to the story. Apparently, one specific mission will be focused on the human world, with Jump asking, "Has something happened in the world of humans?".

That should be for us to figure out once we set out into the world of Astoldia. In this world are four split continents, and one island chain: Ogleed, Eltona, Dwachakka, Pukuland, and Wena Islands. Each of these geographical locations of course pertain to the abode of each of the aforementioned races.

Square Enix is hauling in quite an impressive lineup of goods at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show, so we might be able to pick up something more from their presentation then.

The publisher has yet to describe Dragon Quest X as an MMORPG title, although so far, the clues about the game does point to that inclination. Just last week, the game's FAQ confirmed that there will be a subscription fee attached to playing the game online.

Nothign... they are killing the serie like they did with FF. Dragon Quest 9 was the last good one. :/

The world doesn't need another mmo. That is a fact; deal with it. They are all exactly the same anyways. Also, it limits the number of people that can enjoy the game. Monthly fees add up and not everyone has a reliable internet connection. KoTOR FF and now DQ are all dead franchises in my opinion.(though that's not to say they couldn't be revived)
