CNN Grades Current-Gen Consoles

ChrisCNN correspondent Chris Morris wrote an odd article that graded each of the current generation systems on their performance as if they were enrolled in some sort of crazy video game school. Although Morris' writing style may seem a bit unorthodox, his opinions seem to be unbiased and spot-on.

Mr. Morris decided to pick favorites by complimenting the PlayStation 2 on its "near flawless semester" and giving the system an 'A.' The runner-up was the Xbox, receiving a 'B-' and plaudit for its Halo 2 game. The lowest grade was given to the GameCube with a 'D.'

This can't make me help but wonder what the next-gen systems may receive for grades. Based on facts and figures present today, I'll offer my prediction...

The Wii will top all by receiving an 'A+.' It will slide to victory with its pure innovation and ability to attract a whole new audience. On top of that, the price of the Wii going to be cheaper than all other next-gen systems. Coming in second will be the Xbox 360 with a 'B+.' The system's sheer graphical power and ability to play all kinds of media offer a heaven to hardcore gamers, but present a hell to the every-man Nintendo is trying to reach. The PlayStation 3 will be in dead last with a 'D.' Its nice interface and media abilities will be its selling point, but the price tag will simply be too much to attract a large audience.

Sony and Nintendo will completely switch places and Microsoft will still be stuck in the middle. Let the next-gen console wars begin!
