Kirby is a very strange game character. Arguably one of the cutest protagonists ever designed, there is a slight hint of sinister intent in any Kirby title—after all, what exactly happens to all the creatures he eats? Ignoring the strange moral undertones, Kirby games are generally great, and the character is one of the most beloved in the industry.

The Kirby franchise celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, and Nintendo isn’t going to let the opportunity slide by. On July 19 (in Japan), the Kirby: 20th Anniversary Special Collection will officially hit Nintendo Direct.

What does it include, you ask? Why, all of these:

  • Kirby's Dream Land (Gameboy)
  • Kirby's Adventure (NES)
  • Kirby's Dream Land 2 (Gameboy)
  • Kirby Super Star (SNES)
  • Kirby's Dream Land 3 (SNES)
  • Kirby 64 (Nintendo 64)

That’s pretty much the classics, though it’s a bit of a bummer that the surprisingly awesome Kirby’s Dream Course was left out.

No info on a Western release quite yet, but we’re sure it’s coming. Stay tuned!

The only time I ever took control of Kirby was in Super Smash Bros.

Wasn't impressed.

Why are they celebrating this faggotry after two decades? Nothing glorious came out of the series, due to it being so babyish and girlish. These games are for failures!!! Avoid them! Don't be a gay weak loser!!! Free your mind from the kiddie perspective and live the real life out there to strenghten yourself and be a better living being!
