Yoshinori Ono picks the Capcom characters he'd like to see in Smash Bros.

SmashBros

Yoshinori Ono, developer of Capcom's Street Fighter series, has recently commented on what Capcom characters he'd like to see in the next Smash Bros. game.

"Personally speaking, expanding the roster out to the whole Capcom, I'd really like to see Mega Man in Smash Bros because I think Mega Man really fits in that whole world. He has a high affinity with the Smash Bros. world," Ono said to Official Nintendo Magazine.

"If I had to confine it to Street Fighter it would definitely be M. Bison because I would like that mega villain to fall upon those Nintendo characters and cause complete chaos," he added. "That would be fun."

In the end it's all up to Nintendo if they want more third party characters in the next Smash Bros. game, which is certainly years away from release. Given the fact that Solid Snake and Sonic were in Brawl, I don't think it's too big of a stretch to see Mega Man in the next game.

I definitely love this idea. It'd be awesome to throw in some famous EA and Ubisoft characters too. haha.

Not that i wouldn't like seeing brawl especially if it brought in more popular characters what happened to the slogan "The Brawl to end them all!" (taken directly from the Nintendo website might I add)

Seems to me that if they do make another one they'll be contradicting this statement and that's pretty low, getting people hyped up thinking that this is the game's last stand so get it to show your support, and somewhere later along the road they decide, hey lets make another one after all the fans will eat it up like hot cakes.

That's not to say I wouldn't get it myself if it looks good, just saying that it's a really underhanded tactic and they really shouldn't falsely advertise things like that or at least acknowledge the contradiction later on.

Are you actually serious?

"The Brawl to End them All" is a marketing slogan. You must be a very, very special person to take that literally as in "there will be no more smash bros."

Or you haven't finished grade 6 English, which in that case I apologize.

And, just stating the obvious with this one, it could be the last "Brawl" as the next one is going to be called Super Smash Bros. "Battle Royal" or Super Smash Bros. "Rumble".

So it could be the last brawl, as brawl won't be used in the title anymore.

... huh well that's embarrassing and i know I'm probably setting myself up for another fall but I'll be honest and say i really didn't think about it like that.

no sarcasm intended but really thanks for pointing that out, I'd probably have said that to someone in person and they'd probably give me the same response, at least here no one knows who i actually am :P

now if you'll excuse me i gotta go bang my head against the wall or something.

The slogan is really more of a statement as to how grand and 'epic' the 'brawl' (As in a fight) is...

I'd like to see nintendo get licensing to use crash bandicoot as a playable character. His move set totally fits with smash's style of gameplay.

I dont know why they consider Capcom as "3rd party", someone please fill me in but I always thought Capcom was with Nintendo since the beginning of Nintendo's time.
Lets look at the characters that are in Smash Bros. from some of our favorite NES classics.
Samus Aran -(Metroid)
Mario, Yoshi, Luigi, Bowser, and Peach - (Mario Bros.)
Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong -(Donkey Kong) Pit - (Kid Icarus)
Nana, Popo -(Ice Climbers)
Snake (Metal Gear)
Zelda, Ganondorf, Link / Toon - (Legend Of Zelda)
WHERES MEGAMAN? Too bad he got left out in MvC 3 but hey, Im happy with Zero ;)

Sakurai said that he will only put in one third party character per company. They would not put in M. Bison for he is not the main character of Street fighter. So it is safe to say that Megaman will be the Capcom representative, right? .....RIGHT?!
