Mario Kart Heading to Revolution |
In the latest issue of Nintendo Power (Feb 2006,) they interview Mario Kart producer Hideki Konno. Mr. Konno notes that it would only be the logical step for Mario Kart to appear on the Revolution, and my logic would suggest it would be extremely fun.Nintendo Power: What do you like most about the Revolution controller?
Hideki Konno: We're doing a lot of experiments right now with the Revolution controller and obviously with the direct pointing device (DPD) and its ability to track movement and distance. You know, that's huge, because that's a brand-new thing that we've never seen before in any controller. Trying to envision all the different things we could do with that motion sensor, that DPD, is a little mind-boggling.
NP: Where do you think the Mario Kart series can go from here?
Konno: As you know, Mario Kart has appeared on all of Nintendo's platforms so far, and I think it's done its job on the DS, or at least I hope it will with what's new. So the next logical step, of course, is the Revolution. Really what we hope to do is continue to bring new and creative things to the franchise that appeal not only to our established user base, but also bring new people into the game.

Heh big suprise, Mario Kart, Mario, Metroid, Zelda, and Super Smash brothers are HUGE cash cows, Of course you will see all the same titles on the Revolution
(I'm not saying thats a bad thing, as long as the games are good (Unlike Mario Kart for GC... that game bites, I regret spending the 60$ on it that I did))
I thought Mario Kart DD was awesome. Tag team was friggin awesome. As for the Revolution Mario Kart, can't wait. Should be interesting with the new controller.
^^ I can't really see much they could do with their controller for a racing game, Actuall steering wheels like the Driving force pro *drools* will always be better for racing games.
So my guess is the controller would be used for other things like controlling the guy on the back of your cart, Maybe for leaning or attacking
And I can't agree mario kart for GC was good, Single player it was a short, simple and relatively annoying based on the computers tactics
And multiplayer Battle levels were RIDICULOUSLY small and too simple to be any fun
The 2 player on the same car was kinda cool, but you need at least 4 players to really have fun with that, and I don't know anyone else who has a gamecube, so never got a chance to play with 8.
From the small things I've seen on the 1st Mario Kart game, it looks pretty good. I've played all through MK64, and it was the best untill MKDS previously released. MKDD was cool (especially the 2-player kart feature), but I always thought it wasn't but a little over half of what MK fans wanted. MK64 was my first game (I'm only 11) and the GC version was exciting, at first. The 4 courses on MKDS from the GBA version were too alike and that SUCKED! Though almost every other aspect of the game (Mario Kart DS) I liked. Anyways, I've seen one example picture of MK Rev., and I was pretty confused. I just hope it's pretty good be cause so far the ultimate MK game (MKDS) left the sequel on edge and guessing what tricks, characters, and items will come from Nintendo next!!! So, anyone who comes close to agreeing with me please respond to me as Anonymous (not coward) 21.
This should be awesome ive played all the mario kart games. Ad all ive heard is ***** about the revolution so if they come out with this game at release it would be awesome. ANd i quick question. Is the revolution only gonna be like $250?
