Business Week Interviews Miyamoto |
Source: Buisnessweek

In a recent interview with Business Week Online, Miyamoto has shed some light on what thoughts went into the Revolution.
The Nintendo star designer states some interesting facts on the Nintendo front, and his particular opinions on the gaming community as a whole.
When asked about the demographic Miyamoto and his teams aim for, he states that "[they] disagree with people who say, "Nintendo is for kids, and Sony is for adults." There are plenty of 60-year-olds who will play the games we make. Women in their 20s haven't been a major target for game makers. But many young women have found our games fun, especially Nintendogs."
Miyamoto claims that Nintendo wants gamers from 5 to 95 to play their games, and that the most important aspect is 'fun'. Many of his ideas come from childhood experiences and personal imagination.
One of the most important points in the interview was how he came up for the design of Revolution's controller, and how the machine will be different. The idea was that for anyone that saw the controller would instantly know how to use it, and so, the whole family could participate in gaming in the living room, which has been a common statement by Miyamoto in the past.
He goes on to say how it has been convenient to make games for TVs, but Miyamoto would like to have a "customisable screen", stating "[He] always thought that games would eventually break free of the confines of a TV screen to fill an entire room. But [he] would rather not say anything more about that."
Rather not say anything more about that? Rather suspicious...
