The Dutch gamesite Gamer claims that the latest issue of British Nintendo magazine NGC has exclusive news: when played on a Revolution through backwards compability, the upcoming GameCube title Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess should be able to use exclusive features straight with the Revolution controller.

According to Gamer, NGC says that the reason Shigeru Miyamoto and Aonuma wanted to pospone the release date of the game to next year, was to implent some exclusive features that can be controlled using the Revolution controller, the already famous 'remote' controller.

According to Gamer, and thus NGC, the game still remains a GameCube title. We can already imagine a fishing game or fighting with your sword using the Revolution controller, and we hope the controller will be intergrated in the game instead of a selection of mini games. What this means for both the release date of the Revolution and the game itself, is still unknown.

Various other sources, like scans of the NGC magazine in question, reveal the truth behind this all. We can confirm that indeed, Twilight Princess will come out around the same time as the Revolution (according to NGC around November 2006) and that it will be playable with the Revolution controller.

According to the NGC magazine scans (thanks to George from the N-Philes forums for supplying them), the controller will be used for sword fighting, rowing in your boat and fishing, amongst other things. The D-pad on the 'remote' Revolution controller will be for using the various items, most presumably.

Interesting...hats off to Nintendo for Nintendo for finding the right balance. They're satisfying their loyal Gamecube customers while still providing incentive for people to buy the Zelda along with a new Revolution console.

nintendo once again reads my mind before i even realized i was thinking. lol i was kinda downed because i am poor and i need to save up my christmas money and my birthday money (my birthday is coincidentally in april) to afford the revolution. and i was kinda worried because i would need to get a gamecube remote to plug into the rev and play twilight princess but now thanks to nintendo i no longer have that problem. i should have around 300 bucks if even that much, at rev launch, so i would like hope the rev is 150 or lower so i can get an extra remote and maybe a couple of games.
