IGN Not Telling All About Controller? |

Ok, so I’m not a fan of conspiracy/cover-up theories, but the guys at playbomb have some interesting ideas. This is all based on the popular image from IGN which shows buttons X and Y on the reflection of the controller. Is this the other secret about the revolution, or an artist at fault?
Possibilities include that the controller could indeed have an X and Y buttons that would be only accessible when the controller is tilted at a certain angle, adding very interesting gameplay. Perhaps the user could also choose between a 2 and 4 button layout as well, using touch buttons. But then again, it could just be an artist in err. Interesting to think about, but still nothing solid.

A rediculous notion.
If it were to be true, I'd hate having to tilt the damn controller everytime I wanted to press x or y. That's just not natural and could cause a lot of mistakes, like having to push both a and x at the same time, how the crap would I do that?
In other words...LAME EXCUSE FOR A CONSPIRACY!!!

Some controllers say x and y while others say a and b. Either IGN or GameSpot said when it was shown at first that the pictures showed one thing but the controllers they used showed the other.

What really happened is the buttons in Japan really are X and Y. They wanted to use the same promotional pictures for overseas as well, so rather than reshoot the photos, they simply Photoshopped an A and B onto the picture... but failed to do so in the reflection as well. It's interesting that people have caught it.

it must have been x and y during development.
Right until the revelation, it would have been, then later maybe iwata wanted it to reflect NES controllers and stuff.
so the artist changes it to a,b, except he wasn't remembering to fix the reflection.
that's my idea.
no point in having all these theories...

It looks like an uppercase A upside down instead of a Y...and it looks like the bottom of a B on the top.
