If you're one of the tech fans who thinks that the sight of a WaveBird receiver slapped onto your Wii's Gamecube port ruins the console's streamlined image, read on. Foobar2k has just come up with a step-by-step guide to modding your Wii with an internally mounted WaveBird receiver.As for what you need for this attempt (aside from the WaveBird kit):
- Triwing Screwdriver
- Phillips Screwdriver
- Some good thin wire
- Soldering Iron
- Solder
- Wire Cutters
- Electrical Tape or similar

I've noticed that when I leave Wavebird receivers attached to my Wii, I cannot access the internet via wifi. Once I remove the receivers, I can access wifi again. People trying out this hack may first want to see if the wavebirds negate their wifi access lest they stumble across it after the receivers have been internalized....
i thought wavebirds operate on 900mhz, shouldn't interfere with wifi
802.11b will interfere with WaveBird just as any other wireless appliance (like phones) or even a microwave will. Upgrade to a router which supports 802.11G and you should be fine.
