Wii U offers more 'good uses' over Move, Kinect, says Carmack |
Listed in: News Tags: John Carmack, kinect, move

Motion control is over, says id Software's John Carmack.
"I think there may be more good uses of that [Wii U tablet] than [there are for] the current generation with Kinect and Move," Carmack said.
"There's clearly a subset of games for which things like that are appropriate for. We've been going on with how can we use those types of motion things with Rage and it's hard to take a game that's fundamentally designed around a controller and get value out of doing some of those other things, while adding extra touch interfaces there, that seems like something that almost every game could make some use of without it being just like, 'Oh, we have to do something like this.' Because if you remember, when the DS came out, there was a lot of talk about how, 'Isn't this going to be just a gimmick?' But really it did turn out to be quite a good interface to build on."
Do developers have to use the Wii U touch screen? Find out here.

when playing. I got iPad for that :)
For sure a screen can bring new element and options
into the mix but it boils down how comfortable it will be to hold it several hours. I got a idea.

I was actually looking forward to a serious console from Nintendo but damn i'm disappointing. I love GameCube but hated Wii and sold it after played a couple of pretty fun games but the controller got boring and not very practical specially since i like to sit comfortably on the couch when playing so holding this thing is just a no no for me. Maybe more casual player will like it but the way i see it if it aint broken dont fix it.

The WiiU gives you what you want. You are comparing the new controller to the iPad however that's a false comparison. Have you held the new controller? I have. It's very comfortable.

I would much rather hold something comfortably than have extra features in it that aren't required or useless.
And yes, I help a WiiU controller, too. It was not a functioning one and could not power up, but I held one. Too large. Too heavy.

Wow! He doesn't want something large and he doesn't want to fling something around. My assessment is the WiiU controller is NOT too large and you do NOT have to swing it around. What part of that were you not capable of getting through your thick head? Both of his issues are resolved.
So the end result is:
My opinion, not too large.
Your opinion, too large.
Gee, they differ. What a fucking shock.
crait disagrees, News at 11!!!!

And wow, DeltaDAWG making a big fucking deal because too people share differing viewpoints! Also at 11! This just in DeltaDAWG is a bitch and messes with the rating system because he is a baby that gets his feelings hurt because not everyone agrees with him!

He said that it LOOKED too big, meaning he never actually held one. Therefore his only opinions of it are based on SIGHT and not experience.
He was comparing it to an iPad. The WiiU controller isn't even CLOSE to being the size of an iPad so YES his assessment is wrong.
Got anything else you wanted to be wrong about? Seriously you have to be the most uneducated moron I have ever come across. You can't read or comprehend.... anything.
"I don't get what part of that you think is okay for you to do."
Since I know FOR FACT that the WiiU controller is NOT the size of an iPad then I am 100% in the right telling someone as such.
I dont get what part of that your tiny fucked up brain isn't capable of understanding.

And yes, the iPad's size is very close to the WiiU controller size.
By the way, cool story, bro.
