Wii U is Ready for the Hardcore |
Listed in: News Tags: Microsoft, Nintendo, pro controller, wii u
Love the Wii U concept but concerned about the implementation of its unique controller? No worries—Nintendo has you covered. Last night, a couple of days before the company’s hotly anticipated E3 presentation, the company released a few key details of what its bringing to the table this year, including this Wii U “Pro Controller:”

If you’re thinking the controller looks familiar, it does—Nintendo might as well have repainted an Xbox 360 remote. Apparently, Nintendo agrees with the folks that contend Microsoft essentially nailed controller design with its latest generation offering. Of course, every system since the SNES has borrowed the “four-button plus shoulder-buttons” layout in some form or another, so it’s really more of a chicken/egg argument than anything. The short version is that the controller looks perfect.
Nintendo’s new controller should be more appropriate for third-party titles and more “hardcore” games than the system’s unwieldy tablet device. It will also be wireless (finally, Nintendo!) and feature a micro USB port, which we assume is for recharging internal batteries. We’ll know more after Nintendo goes live tomorrow at 9am PDT.
What do you think of the new controller?

This is more inline with PC controllers and the PS3 controller.
It wont be an issue.

I'm sure they'll figure it out.

Still, bumper jumping isn't something I like.

I got to hold one and......eh. I'm impartial. It feels better then the 360 (for me) but...not quit right. I guess I'll get used top it.

Yeah, they are totally biased on this site. Everything they post is 'praise Nintendo!!!'
Give it a rest. So what if it's free? They can't praise it for being free because Sony has already done that and they want to shit on Sony as much as they can on this site.

I like the idea of having both sticks at the same level. To then drop down and be able to have a classic style setup. Pure win!

This one looks slightly more ergonomic than the PS3 controller, but the analogs above the buttons...*shivers*

So, shut up. Not everyone is complaining. People can actually be happy that it's a rip-off.

Hopefully when "PS-4" comes it'll have a relative design to 360/Wii U.

You think the opposite. Welcome to a free world.

All I can say is democracy is part of a free world and Sega, Microsoft & Nintendo have voted, and I admit the Playstation controller is fine for some but Sony refuses to offer alternatives, and when Sony showed that Boomerang controller for Ps3 a minority of people complained and Sony caved.

Dreamcast? WTF is that? Sounds like some failed console that nobody wanted because it sucked, controllers included!

Neither controller is bad, just more fitting to those with certain hand sizes.

Oh, and before I get -10 rating for this comment, if you get a silhouette of both the 360 controller and this thing, then they will be the EXACT same.

Both controllers are fine, i use my 360 controller for pc gaming and like my ps3 controller cause it doesnt ever need batteries.
Also stop saying the Wii U controller is a flippin rip-off, what MS came up with a boomerang shaped controller first? no, Sega did.
Sega knew wtf they were doing, it was a shame tho they had to deal with the idiot masses here in the usa there too scared to give the dreamcast a try.
in japan it lived on for quite a long time. soo if yall wanna talk rip-offs point the finger at MS for copying Dreamcast controllers.
Nuff said :/
