Ubisoft Director Says Wii U's Message Is "Hard To Convey." |

There are plenty of reasons that the console may not be going well, but if you asked Ubisoft director Xavier Poix he would probably tell you that the trouble all resides in the message.
When the public caught its first glimpse of the Wii U, for the most part we were all just a little bit confused. Was this an entirely new console, or just a new peripheral for the Wii we already own? That much wasn't clear because too much emphasis was placed on the controller during initial marketing. Polix claims however, that the miscommunication behind the need for suh a system does not stop there however. In addition to this, he says "the depth of what you can do with that console is really hard to get across unless you play with it. It's different from the Wii, where seeing was believing. With the Wii U, people really need to experience it." In a sense, because most of us have never played the system then, we don't truly understand the reason to get one.

The industry head even when on to discuss this similar sense of failure in relation to Ubisoft's own title called ZombiU. Statements were made that the ability to use two screens to control two very different aspects of gameplay can be a very difficult concept to explain. However, Xavier does indeed express hope in this kind of environment saying that such a new way to interact may just take a little bit longer to catch on. This was indeed true for the original Wii in a lot of ways, so could we be seeing a repeat of that lag in this coming generation as well?
