When the first major Wii U even happened prior to its launch, one of the biggest secrets that Nintendo had been able to keep was with regards to its media hub known as TVii. Essentially the app works to tie in all of the content from your various streaming video providers alongside what's on your cable box or DVR. While it has had been pushed back from the system's launch, it will debut in the US and Canada tomorrow in a somewhat limited fashion.

The reason I say it's limited is that two of the biggest video providers aren't going to be invited to the party just yet. When it goes live tomorrow, both Netflix and Tivo will not be integrated into the service. That means, if you want to see what's going on with those guys, you'll have to stick to using the actual device for now. Still, it's not a bad way to preview what will be happening once those guys are added to the fold. I am told that will be happening sometime in "early 2013."

In case you're confused about what Tvii even is, it's not like you'll be connecting a cable line directly into your machine. It is more or less a service consolidator that takes all of the content from those various sources and allows you to see them all within the same screen. After all, we don't care where it all comes from as long as it's on a service we can watch right? The Wii U will switch over to the desired component to play whatever it is you select. In addition, Tvii also has a few social features such as the timeline which will allow you to share your favorite moments from your videos with your friends on Twitter or Facebook. If this all sounds like fun to you, you can check it out tomorrow!

yeah just about. I'm considering more like giving the people a beta. I'm wondering what the holdup is. Netflix is usually pretty keen to be a part of just about anything these days.
