The existence of Luigi’s Mansion 2 is no secret—the game is aimed for a 2012 release on the Nintendo 3DS handheld. However, if one UK retailer is to be believed, the game will also be making an appearance on Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U device.
Play, an online games store, currently has a listing for a Wii U version of Luigi’s Mansion 2. Since the game hasn’t been announced by Nintendo (or really hinted at in any way), this story lands firmly in the area of rumor and conjecture. However, it would make sense for Nintendo to drop a big sequel on the Wii U—as we all know, software drives sales.
Luigi’s Mansion 2 doesn’t have a release date as of yet, which means that a simultaneous release of the 3DS and Wii U versions could be entirely possible. Then again, Play has listed fictional games and incorrect titles before, so who knows?
