Reggie: Wii U won't be hard to sell |
Listed in: News Tags: Forbes, Nintendo, Reggie Fils-Aime

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has no worries about marketing Wii U.
"What we are doing with Wii U is creating an ability for games to leverage two different screens; the big screen in your room, and the smaller handheld screen in front of you," Fils-Aime told Forbes. "By doing so it opens up all of these different experiences. The experience I use to describe it to someone is to imagine a first person shooter, where instead of constantly having to look at the screen, now I've got things happening all around me."
"It's a great experience," he continued. "I don't think it's going to be a hard sell. I think that communicating to consumers through the magic of the second window, you can have a totally unique experience, with another player still in the room... I don't think it's a difficult sell."
Check out what id Software founder John Carmack has to say about Wii U.

I doubt people will be buying it like they did the Wii. The Wii was was the lesser priced console at the time and the US economy wasn't so bad. Also they competing against hardware people may not want to upgrade from just yet. So I think they going lose out when the next Sony Ms consoles come out. MS is still making money on there current system so I see Nintendo in a pickle spot.

He's not going to say "we really got to try hard to sell these systems" unless he wants to get fired.
Nobody knows if the Wii U will be a sales success like the Wii, but all things considered, it's highly unlikely.
