Nintendo Without Miyamoto? The Time is Coming |

Shigeru Miyamoto, the man behind such blockbuster franchises as Donkey Kong, Mario, and Zelda, is getting up there in age, causing him to make moves to help Nintendo prepare for a future without him.

Don’t worry, Miyamoto isn’t ready to retire just yet. He is looking ahead, however, and is doing his best to set Nintendo up for success. Miyamoto spoke with Gamespot regarding his shift in strategy when it comes to developing games.
“This year I'm past 60; I'm going to be turning 61 this year. So for me to not be thinking about retirement would be strange," he said. "But in fact, the number of projects I'm involved in--and the volume of my work--hasn't changed at all.”
Miyamoto continued: “Instead, what we're doing internally is, on the assumption that there may someday be a time when I'm no longer there, and in order for the company to prepare for that, what I'm doing is pretending like I'm not working on half the projects that I would normally be working on to try to get the younger staff to be more involved.”
He added that he wants his producers to stress pleasing the customer instead of trying to appease him with their efforts. “And as I like to say, I try to duck out of the way, so that instead of them looking at me, they're looking at the consumer and trying to develop their games with the consumer in mind rather than me in mind. So it's really more of looking at this as sort of an opportunity to really try to help develop them and bring them up.”
Could you imagine Nintendo without Miyamoto?

That's like saying...everyone dies....eventually.
His time is not coming soon or anything. He's doing what everyone has to do when they reach retirement age.

Take new super mario bros u, the music is basically the same a NSMB. That's fine, but at least change it a little...e.g for Bowsers levels, the theme music could have been dark, heck have an alternate soundtrack the disc has 25gb of space on it.
Also make at least one playable female character...Daisy or Peach. Hopefully some DLC would let peach be playable in a version.
Actually that's why I liked Mario 2 more interesting Bad Guys...time to change it up a little.
