The Wii U may have launched without the TVii service that allows for the interactive watching of various cable and internet programming, but slowly and surely more and more additional features are coming out of the wood work for Nintendo's latest gaming device. While day one just had Netflix as the main media provider for the console, today we can say hello to another entertainment powerhouse looking to step their way into the next generation. That's right folks, Hulu Plus is now a part of the Wii U feature set.

For those that have been completely unaware of the streaming craze in content delivery these days, Hulu Plus is one of the more premiere ways to take advantage of the internet to watch some of your favorite shows. While Netflix in particular tries to emphasize its collection of full Hollywood movies, Hulu on the other hand would rather charge you the same eight dollar monthly fee to watch programming from big networks such as ABC, Comedy Central, NBC, Nickelodeon, and Fox. Unlike the other movie option however, there is limited ads involved, but its still nothing compared to what you would be getting from your cable box.
So what can Hulu Plus bring to the Wii U specifically? I've already mentioned that large library of partnerships, and as most of these apps are able to accomplish, all of that will be able to be viewed on the TV from your console. Still, that's not all this little puppy can do. You'll also be able to use the gamepad to navigate through menus including the new Kids Tab that displays more than 43 full fledged shows aimed directly at children. If that's not your style though, you'll also be able to watch all of that great Hulu content from the gamepad as well provided you are within range of the main unit. Essentially this means you could head to a nearby room to finish your episode if someone needed to use your main TV for something else. The app is totally free with your subscription, and should definitely be downloaded should you have Plus and a Wii U.

I wish more of those services were just pay and you go. All I want is to buy a TV show from time to time. Which makes Amazon great.
