The long wait for new Wii U console from Nintendo is just about over.  While the console’s TVii service won’t be ready at launch, you can expect it to go live next month.

TVii is a free video service for the Wii U. It was originally unveiled in September at a Wii U event in NYC, and promises to give users the capability to watch, interact with, and search for TV shows, sporting events, and movies.  TVii integrates with Netflix, Hulu, and other streaming services, as well as cable and satellite providers.  You’ll obviously need subscriptions to view the services through TVii, but you won’t need any additional equipment.  The application will become available sometime in December.

The Wii U comes out tomorrow in North America and is Nintendo’s first HD system.  Europe and Australia will receive it on November 30^th, while Japan will get it on December 8^th.
