Epic: Wii U is either too late or too early

Epic Games president Mike Capps has given his thoughts on how early or late Wii U is.

"As a middleware provider and as a game developer it sure would be nice if all the different platforms were really similar for us – it would make it easier to work between them with maybe just a few differentiating features we could take advantage of. I'd hate to say that the Wii U is late; in fact, you could almost argue that it's early," said Capps.

As far as the console's power is concerned, we've heard multiple reports saying that it's much more powerful than PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. However, other reports say that Wii U is only just as powerful as the current generation.

"They're aiming for a point beyond the current generation – they're just not leapfrogging it. One can certainly envision a future a couple years down the road where we have some significantly leapfrogged generation and then the Wii U again becomes a system that's not easily portable between the other platforms. But honestly, I think the bigger challenge for us is mobile."

Epic is very interested in Wii U.

Mike Capps is talking out his butt. He should get his facts straight before opening his mouth.

NES - 1985
Super Nintendo - 1990
N64 - 1996
Gamecube - 2001
Wii - 2006
WiiU - 2012

That's a 5-6 year release schedule for every single one of their stationary consoles. The WiiU is right on time. If Nintendo was always worried about what everyone else was doing they would never get anything out.

im pretty sure he was talkin about the features or/and hardware spec rather then the actual release timeline of the console. But i do agree that most ppl like to call Nintendo's Next console a failure b4 gettin their facts straight

I haven't heard/seen one person "in the media" that has said it will be successful. Do you have any links to share with us?

Or are you gonna tell me that none of these people (developers, publishers, CEO's, cooperate presidents) are saying it'll be successful?

Do you understand English? Let me try again:

"I haven't heard/seen one person "in the media" that has said it will be successful"

Here's two clues for you:

1. MEDIA
2. SUCCESSFUL

I quit after your 6th link, the word SUCCESSFUL isn't even on those pages.

pwn3d!

But thanks for utterly wasting your time cutting and pasting all those for no good reason.

Let me get this shit straight...
You wanted me to find someone "in the media?" Which is who? The TV anchors of CNN? If the people I posted weren't in the media, then I have no idea who you even are wanting me to find quotes from.
And WOW......... seriously? You needed to see that single word, "successful?" I had to find that exact word?????? Why do I have to find that exact word?
I somehow knew giving you a proper response would not suffice.
No matter how much proof you're shown, you're still gonna ignore it and keep thinking in your own mind the way you do. You're a fanboy.

You don't think EA's CEO is in the media?
You think saying something "transcends anything I’ve ever done before" is saying it won't be successful?

Either you need to learn the English language (which doesn't seem to be the case) or you need to seriously rethink your viewpoint and listen to logic.

You're a fanboy. It cannot be more apparent.

"You wanted me to find someone "in the media?"

Excuse you? I never asked you to do a damn thing.

Nothing about those links you posted was anyone claiming the WiiU will be a total success.

"You're a fanboy. It cannot be more apparent."

A fanboy of what? I say I've not read anything yet claiming the WiiU will be a success. That doesn't say anything good about the WiiU and it doesn't say anything bad about the WiiU.

You are one confused little boy.

You said: "I never asked you to do a damn thing."

Now you say: "I haven't heard/seen one person "in the media" that has said it will be successful. Do you have any links to share with us?"

You're a fanboy, dude. You ignore everything and everyone because you are so close minded. You are obviously Pro-Nintendo with 95% of what you post.
Again, you are ignoring most of what I posted and focusing on the lesser of the important matters. You're dumb. Seriously. I stated people shouldn't judge something without properly knowing it. You wanted me to "share" links of when people were doing that and I did. You're a retard. I did what you wanted and you continue to insult me. You're a fucking troll. You and the other accounts you have, ISOHaven.

And I'm a confused little boy? I garuntee you that I'm older than you. Probably one of the oldest people on this website.

Yup, my bad, I did ask for links.

However, like I said, you failed to provide any links where anyone claimed the WiiU will be successful. The only thing in those links of yours are people talking about what THEY LIKE about the WiiU. So once again, you can't read for squat. Either that or you simply can't help yourself when it comes to adding your own commentary while you read.

So you think I'm a fanboy. Good for you. I already asked you of what and you can't even answer me. Am I a fanboy of post-it notes? Am I fanboy of Pepsi???

Here's a fact for you to suck on, only immature little boys/girls use the term fanboy. So keep it up, you're showing your age very well.

I get that, really I do. But the end result is the same as someone waiting to buy a new cell phone. Should they buy now or wait? Oh but the next one will have so many more features so they wait. Oh but the one after that will have so many MORE new features.

You have to pull the trigger sometime and just roll with something. In Nintendos case, they pull the trigger every 5-6 years. It doesn't matter what's "just around the corner".

The Super Nintendo was released in the fall of 1991 not 1990.

Try November 21, 1990 in Japan.

Is that specific enough for you?
