Dragon Quest X to Use Wii U Cloud Saves

Dragon Quest X, an MMO built by Square Enix and due on Wii U in March, is a highly anticipated title for Nintendo’s latest device. Because people love Dragon Quest, regardless of the console. That’s a gaming fact.

But perhaps the coolest thing about the game isn’t that it’s a Dragon Quest title, or that it’s an MMO for the Wii U, but that it will be using cloud saves. Whatever data the game might need to save will be stored somewhere in the cloud, rather than on the Wii U’s tiny internal storage device.

Sure, it’s not really groundbreaking for an MMO to store its data somewhere that isn’t the user’s hard drive. But it is a pretty big deal for Nintendo watchers curious to see if the company would make more of an effort with its online tech during this console cycle.

Looks like it’s trying, at least for now.

Does anyone actually care? That's too small of a file to be worthy of high praise.

Also the internal storage is not small. You tried that here and it didn't work:

"Nintendo finally joins the modern world. Should we throw a parade, or something?"

Are you ever NOT cynical about anything?
