Crysis 3 Skipping Wii U |

Nintendo’s Wii U system, if you believe Nintendo and some of the developers that have built for it, is just as powerful as the PS3 or Xbox 360. Which means that in theory, any games coming to the two aging consoles should be capable of coming to the Wii U. Unfortunately for the big N, things aren’t exactly working out that way.

Crysis 3, the FPS game designed to melt high-end PCs and mildly impress console gamers, is the latest big title to skip making an appearance on Nintendo’s new flagship device. The reason? EA doesn’t see enough “business drive” in the Wii U to make it worth the time or money. Which is apparently a bummer for Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli:
"I’d love to see it on Wii U, but what I love to see and what gets done at the end of the day are two different things. Even so, I could initiate it but someone has to sell it, right? If that business decision doesn't make sense, or seems to not make sense for them, it's … not possible for us to make it. We can’t publish ourselves, and that’s the bottom line.”
Crysis 3 joins big titles like Dead Space 3 and BioShock Infinite in completely ignoring the existence of Nintendo’s device. We’ll have to keep an eye on future third-party releases, as Wii U could be in serious trouble if this trend continues deeper into its shelf life. Most game fans would argue that the original Wii’s greatest weakness was its lack of third-party titles (even though, you know, it was the most popular console of the generation).
