BBC has expressed interest to develop games for Wii U.

"(The Wii U is) a really interesting product. I think the challenge is for us to get [our brands as] games into something like retail," said Executive producer of BBC Worldwide's Digital Entertainment and Games division, Simon Harris.

"We want to get together with partners. [We're] very excited to hear what their plans are in that area and yes we'll be looking at whether there are really good strategic partnerships on our brands that we can bring to those platforms as well," he continued. "Nintendo are currently a market leader on consoles so when they do something new you'd better sit up and take notice and try and see if we can become involved in it."

It's always nice to see a new console getting support, but I'm not sure the quality of their games will be something that's desirable.

On the other hand, Epic Games is very interested in Wii U.

I don't think they want to use their IPs, I think they want to just fund some teams.

why do people have to be so pessimistic, yeah bbc have made some dodgy games in the past but they where just random dev's doing the work without much involvment of the bbc itself except licensing, if the bbc actually got some half decent devs and put some money into it we could have eastenders mmorpg, lolz jokin but the y do have quite a few ip's that "could" work well as a game given enough money and support torchwood and dr who are good example's, and to Mickle, i personally love red dwarf but im pretty sure dave now have the rights to that one, not 100% sure tho but they made the latest episodes a lil while back if you didnt catch them

Nah BBC still own the rights to Red Dwarf, but they weren't gonna do any more episodes so they gave Dave permission to do the last three Back to earth episodes, i mean if you buy the Dvds they still sold by BBC.
